U of A Peace and Post Conflict Studies Certificate
Posted by Brian F. Thompson
A few weeks ago, we had Dr. Andy Knight speak to our Club about peace and conflict resolution. He was introduced by Rotarian Ron Grantham (Edmonton Downtown).
On April 12, 2006, the University of Alberta formally announced that students will be able to earn a Certificate in Peace and Post Conflict Studies commencing in the 2006-2007 term. A brochure outlining the program is available in the Downloads section of our Club Website. Ron Grantham has been working very hard for the last several years to get this program going, and Andy Knight has been appointed as the Certificate Co-ordinator and Advisor. The goal is to expand this program into a full Degree program at the U of A, similar to the Rotary initiated programs at several other Universities around the world. Congratulations to Ron and Andy for their success in this venture.
