Grocery Card Sales for October hit a total of $4,250, which generated a profit of $340.  If you eat, then you probably buy food at Safeway, Sobeys, IGA or Saveon, so you could use these cards.  We have denominations from $10 (perfect for Christmas gratuities for those who serve you) to $500.  Contact Brian to order your cards and to make your contribution to our Club funds for use on our projects.

50/50 Draw - Nadine and Steve did not match, so the pot is growing.

In the absence of a Finemaster, President Rob called for Happy Bucks and managed to collect $24.75.

EREY - A reminder that we are all asked to donate to the Rotary Foundation as part of the Every Rotarian Every Year program.  Here is an easy way to take care of your obligation.  Click on www.trfcanada.org/trf_canada_donate.html  That website provides you with several alternatives to making a donation to the Rotary Foundation (Canada) which also generates your tax receipt and your Paul Harris Fellow Recognition Points.  Our Club has made a commitment of $4,500 to this charity, but that goal will only be reached if our members make their own donations directly to the Foundation.

Another website to click on is http://www.avivacommunityfund.org/ideas/acf13413 so you can vote for our McCauley Park Rink Project.  We need everyone to vote every day.  Thanks.

PROGRAM - 395 AIR CADET SQUADRON

Retired General Buckham introduced Chief Cadet Dylan Podkowka who showed us a slide show illustrating his recent trip to Isreal.  Dylan was one of five Canadian Cadets, as was Bill Buckham's nephew, to be selected to attend this annual gathering of cadets from some 20 countries.  It is clear that Dylan learned much about middle-east politics from this trip.

We also heard from Commanding Officer, Major John Breen, who talked about the growth of the squadron and the quality of the programs and participants.  He also thanked the Rotary Club of Edmonton West for it's long-term continuing support of 395 Air Cadet Squadron.

Dylan and John were thanked for their presentations by Danny Chau.
