Wounded Warriors ~ Rucksack March for Remembrance

A reminder that the Rucksack Walk for Remembrance is this coming Saturday, October 18. Registration is at 9:00 and the walk begins at 10:00. Come and join us:)

Wounded Warriors Canada is a nationally-recognized organization and mental health service provider dedicated to serving ill and injured Trauma Exposed Professionals and their families by providing services and programs. As a charitable organization, they rely on donations and sponsorship to keep these programs running, which are vital to all First Responders.

Last year our club gave $3000 towards the Warrior Kids Camp that resilience in youth from families of Trauna-Exposed Professionals. The camp and virtual program empowers children and youth to thrive despite the unique challenges posed by parents working as trauma-exposed professionals.

The Rucksack March for Remembrance was established to bring people from the community together with one mission in mind. This mission is to raise awareness and funding for the many Canadian military and first responder families who are fighting their own service-related battles day to day. Every year, we lose too many dedicated soldiers, officers, firefighters and paramedics to illness, injury and suicide. These struggles continue to impact families and communities nationwide and we wanted to do our part to serve those who need our help the most.

Participants of the event can do the 5 km Family Walk; the 11 km Rucksack Walk or the 22 km Rucksack Walk. We would love to have a group of club members, their family and friends come out and support this very worthy cause. Our club will be presenting this organization again with a $3000 donation at the event.
