Ian Hall was raised in Lillooet, B.C. He joined the Canadian Army at the age of 18 and served with the 3rd Battalion, Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry.
After leaving the military, Ian joined Edmonton Fire Rescue Services working initially as a firefighter. He later joined the health and wellness team, where he saw parallels between emergency first responders and veterans coping with job-related stress and encountering mental health issues as a result. He became the Edmonton area ambassador for Wounded Warriors Canada (WWC).
WWC is a nationally-recognized organization and mental health service provider dedicated to serving ill and injured trauma-exposed professionals and their families in both official languages. Rotary International and our District Governor have urged Rotarians to focus their service efforts on mental health, so we are excited to welcome Ian to our Club so we can learn about the programs WWC offers in this area.
