Root for Trees Planting Event

Root for Trees has sent the planting location.

The planting site is located at 16504 137 Ave NW, Edmonton, AB T5V 0C8.

Please note that you are unable to drive vehicles through the park to the planting area.

We are still looking for more volunteers to participate in the Registered Group Planting Program with the City of Edmonton’s Root for Trees initiative!

Date: 18-July-2026
Time: 10:00 to 12:00 pm

Volunteers will be planting native trees, shrubs, and wildflowers in naturalized areas to help improve biodiversity, enhance environmental quality, and restore green spaces to a more natural state.

Since we’ll be working outdoors, please dress appropriately for the weather. The planting area may include thistles, sticks, or debris, so we recommend wearing layers, long pants, and a hat. Sturdy, closed-toe shoes (such as runners) are required.

Please also remember to bring:

• A water bottle
• Snacks (planting can be tiring!)
• Sunscreen
• Bug spray
• Any other items that will help you stay comfortable

All tools and materials—including shovels, gloves, and plants—will be provided by the Root for Trees team.

We’re looking forward to a rewarding day of giving back and helping our environment thrive.
