Peace Pole Ceremony at Fort Edmonton Park

The District 5370 Peace Committee has given funds to install a Peace Pole at Fort Edmonton Park. This is a wonderful celebration of the relationship between Rotary and Fort Edmonton Park. It began in 1966 when Rotary Club of Edmonton Downtown began working with the city to create a replica of the Fort, and in1974 the Park opened in its doors.

A Peace Pole is an internationally-recognized symbol of the hopes and dreams of the entire human family, standing vigil in silent prayer for peace on earth. Each Peace Pole bears the message May Peace Prevail on Earth in different languages on each of its four or six sides. There are estimated over 250,000 Peace Poles in every country in the world dedicated as monuments to peace.

Please join us for this special event. It will take place on May 2, 2024 at 4:00 pm in the plaza at the entrance to the park.

Cheers,

Annie
