WELCOME TO OUR NEWEST MEMBER
Cheryl was born in Stettler, AB and grew up as 1 of 4 girls in a farm family (God does have a sense of humour, just ask her Dad!!)
Cheryl received her secondary education degree from the University of Lethbridge and taught for several years before moving to Edmonton.
Her first experience in the not-for-profit sector was with Habitat for Humanity more than 15 years ago.
Since then Cheryl has worked and volunteered with a variety of not-for-profit organizations & associations including the Fundraising Executives, Homeowner Associations, Edmonton Food Bank, Edmonton Human Society, Canadian Alpaca Breeders and The Salvation Army among others.
Cheryl is currently the Executive Director of the Edmonton Brain Injury Relearning Society which provides community based rehabilitation to survivors of brain injury. When people sustain a brain injury from such things as strokes, aneurysms or motor vehicle accidents, they receive treatment from a medical facility such as the Glenrose Rehabilitation Hospital. Upon their discharge from the hospital, the staff and clinicians of the Edmonton Brain Injury Relearning Society begin their 1 on 1 work with the patients in their home, community and/or classroom setting.
