D5370 Rotary Employment Partnership thanks Mike Ryan !

As you may know the D5370 Rotary Employment Partnership had a booth in the House of Friendship at the International Convention in Montreal. The Partnership generated lots of interest both in our own District and Internationally. It was quite amazing. The Partnership had a lot of interest from Rotarians in Texas, Brazil, Australia, New Zealand and Washington State and other places that I have forgotten. Not to mention many places in Canada.

The last plenary session speaker, the Lieutenant Governor of Ontario David Onley who was a polio survivor, speak about the Ontario Rotary at Work Partnership  (they modeled their Partnership after ours).  He talked about how Rotarians have worked hard to eradicate polio and perhaps their next big international project should be to eradicate the high unemployment rate for people with disabilities.  It was a fabulous coincidence!

There were many Rotarians from around the District who helped staff our booth including Mike Ryan of the Rotary Club of Edmonton West. Having Mike and other Rotarians spend their valuable time while at the Convention to help us out enabled us to have detailed conversations about the Partnership with several interested Rotarians.

The D5370 Rotary Employment Steering Committee sincerely thanks you Mike!
