Report from Georgia Dewart
Posted by Brian F. Thompson
Georgia Dewart is our Rotary Exchange Student in Lingen, Germany. She has sent some e-mail messages to Lorne Proctor to keep us up to date, plus she has set up her own Website which contains many photos of her host family, other Exchange Students, several German communities, and some of her German relatives. Check out her Website at http://web.mac.com/georgiakd/
Some of the highlights include:
- She attended a Rotary Exchange Student Orientation session where she met the other fifty-some international students in the District. There are three other Canadian students.
- She went on a week-long German tour with other Exchange Students, as well as a day trip to Holland with her host family.
- Part of the school experience included doing a practicum - where she worked in an Architect's office for two weeks.
- She is busy - takes German lessons twice a week, goes to Rotary meetings on Tuesday evenings, is taking dance lessons with school friends on Wednesday and Friday evenings, and runs with her host family on Thursdays and Sundays.
- Her German has improved to the point where she can now hold a conversation with most people.
