At our meeting on Monday, September 9, we welcomed Dr. Lynne D Paradis (Ed. D, M. Ed, B.Ed) as our wonderful guest speaker.
Dr. Lynne holds the following roles:
Superintendent, Suzuki Charter School; University of Alberta Governor and Senator; International Director, Rotary Club of Red Deer
Dr. Lynne spoke to our club on Literacy Alive 2019, a Rotary International Global Project, lead by the Rotary Club of Red Deer.
Belize and Canada working together on sustainable Literacy!

Tellef Vaajo
June 07, 1923- September 3, 2019
Tellef passed away peacefully at the age of 96 at the Misericordia Hospital on September 3, 2019.
He will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his children Anne (John), Bob (Lolita), Brian (Dawn), Cathy (Jim), Jane (Tom), thirteen grandchildren, five great grandchildren and his brother Jim (Marguerite).
Tellef was predeceased by his wife Jean (nee Reid) who passed away in 2017.
Grandview Maintenance Work
During the last week of August, 2019 RC Edmonton West Daytimers volunteered at Grandview to work on some maintenance projects including significant work on the fence.
Special thanks to Brian, Vic, Fred, Al, John, JP, and Duane. They put around 64 hours in at Grandview
Roots for Trees
Members of the RC Edmonton West joined the Riverview RC and the Centennial Interact Club (Ross Sheppard High School) with a Root For Trees event. 17 people planted 231 trees. Riverview RC also treated the crew to pizza. Special Roman Bayrock of Riverview RC helped organize this event.
Riverview RC and the RC of Edmonton West co-sponsor the Centennial Interact Club and we’re looking forward to more opportunities to work with both clubs.
