PRESENTATION: Randy Brososky – Group of Rogues

Randy’s topic: How to Apply Creativity to Business .

Randy was introduced by Joe Lizotte as an actor in plays, films, television, cartoons and radio. Occasional street performing  juggling knives and breathing fire but also as a marketer who is a fan of Seth Godin, Terry O'Reilly, Jon Steele and others. Randy consults on & develops marketing campaigns for a number of diverse clients with his company, the Group of Rogues.

Randy Started with a story of how George Eastman built one of the largest companies in the world by asking himself "There has to be a better way..." but by not keeping asking that question, the company "Kodak" has all but disappeared.  They didn't really understand what they were selling to the world.  They thought that they just sold camera film, but what they were actually selling was the ability to capture moments in time and share them with the world.

Rolls-Royce is a company that build aircraft engines, but they understand that this is not what they actually are selling.  What they are really selling is the amount of time that an aircraft is in the air, and that is also the only time an airline is making money.  So Rolls-Royce doesn't sell their engines, they charge the aircrafts for the amount of time that they are flying.  And they are very successful!

Randy went through a few examples of how you and your company can work on determining what your company is actually selling. The first and foremost way is to check out groupofrouges.com laugh.  Other exercises were also discussed with the group.

Randy was thanked by Leslie and Jerome on behalf of the club.
